How To Buy
.Upon arrival, please check in at the office to receive your daily bidding badge.
.Licensed dealers must pre-register in the office or by fax (please see staff for details). Public Buyers must pay a $40 registration fee once during each calendar year. Fee is non-refundable.
.Please inspect the vehicle on the outside lot on sale day before they are auctioned. Please base your bid on your examination: Any needed repairs to “AS-IS” vehicles are the sole responsibility of the buyer. The validity of specifications and/or information recorded on the windshield and/or window of any vehicle is not the responsibility of the Auction and is not subject to arbitration.
.Listen carefully to all announcements and be familiar with the Light System of Selling. The Auction lanes are frequently crowded. Make sure the auctioneer sees your bid.
.Make sure you know what you are bidding on before you bid. Is it the right car? Is the mileage 50,000 and not 150,000? Is it an automatic or standard? Look at the Light System above the auctioneer. If you are not sure, stop the auctioneer and ask, because once you win the bid, it is your vehicle.
.Subject to the seller’s approval, the last bidder is the absolute purchaser and is obligated to pay for the vehicle. Please do not bid unless you are prepared to purchase the vehicle.
.Additionally, no seller is under any obligation to sell his/her vehicle for less than the price they are requesting. This is NOT an absolute auction.
.After winning the bid, proceed immediately to the clerk on the auction block to sign the agreement and receive your copy. You must have your bidder’s badge to show the clerk. Check the accuracy of the agreement before you sign. If you have a dispute, you must seek the Arbitrator’s attention BEFORE signing your form – once you have signed, the agreement is a binding contract and what is written on the form is likewise biding. At this time, a cash deposit of 40% or $400.00 minimum is required (based on purchase price of the vehicle). In addition to your bid price, a Buyers fee will be added to your vehicle cost (fees sheets are available in the office) plus all required state and notary fees. The balance of the purchase price must be paid for in the office. If you cannot pay the balance in full the same night, you must complete payment by 2:00pm the following business day. If you exceed 2:00pm a $100.00 late fee will be added. If you do not pay in full by 3:00pm on the second business day after auction, you will lose your deposit, and the sale will be cancelled. All deposits are non-refundable.
.We accept cash, Checks, MasterCard, Visa and Discover. Any method of payment other than cash, incurs a 5% processing fee.No vehicle can be removed from the auction facility until paid for in full.
.Vehicle title transfer requires valid state issued identification, i.e. driver’s license. If you need temporary tags, you must have a valid insurance ID card and state issued ID. If you are a PA resident, it is state law that tax be collected and transfers be done at the auction if the vehicle was purchased here. (If the vehicle is sold “title attached” PA residents will not be able to get temporary tags the same day). To register your vehicle and receive a license plate, you will need valid, current proof of insurance in your name.
.Vehicles should not be road tested until the buyer has the proper sales receipts.Do not test drive unit on lot.If you wish to test drive your vehicle, please come into the office and inform a staff member who will make arrangements for your test drive. Please wait in the lobby until a staff member is available to take you on a test drive.Only licensed vehicle operators will be allowed to operate any vehicle on a test drive and must show valid, current, state issued driver’s license.
.After the vehicle is paid for, all sales are final and the obligation of the auction company ceases.
